Hi, I'm so glad you're here!

My name is Elis (pronounced Elise) and I am originally from Brazil, South America.

Where I come from, families are more than important, they are sacred. I carry this sense with me every time I photograph a family.

Growing up I used to love pulling out the old family photo albums with my sisters, studying our relatives and imagining what life was like for them.Our grandparents would tell us their stories, and that's when I knew these pictures were treasures.That lesson only grew when we lost my dad in 2020. All the pictures I had taken of him over the years became priceless because they were all we had left of him. As a documentary family photographer, my passion is creating those same treasures for your family.Life’s real moments in prints and albums that your kids will pull out over and over again. The kind that get sticky with fingerprints because your kids love hearing the stories again and again.A session with me is a chance to capture and preserve those everyday moments that make up your beautiful life with you in them. I'd love to help you to be able to pass on your memories for generations to come!

MY LIFE IN A FEW PICTURES

My parents, my husband and I, 4 of my 5 sisters, and 8 of my 10 nephews and nieces. Almost all of my family at our wedding. This is one of my favorite photos!

A LITTLE MORE ABOUT ME

I'm originally from Brazil. Now I'm married to a wonderful Bloomingtonian man and mom to two girls under 6. I love people, the arts, beauty, and different cultures.

Before photography, I worked for an international non-profit. I trained people around the globe for 11 years. I lived in 7 countries across 4 continents and visited 14 others. Most of my time was spent in Africa.

That season of life was incredible. I made friends all over the globe. I learned a few languages besides my Brazilian Portuguese. I discovered we're more alike than different. I also got really good at connecting with anyone.

When I started my photography career, I joined a few art exhibits in town. Maybe that's where my love for hanging beautiful photos on walls began.

I really wanted my own family. But by 40, nothing had happened yet so I thought marriage and kids weren't meant for me. Then I met my wonderful husband and we were blessed with not just one but two girls!

We've been living in Bloomington, IN ever since.
